Forum Acusticum 2026 offers technical tours to some of the acoustically most remarkable venues in Graz, taking place on the Friday and Saturday after the scientific sessions.
Each tour is offered in several time slots. Please note that the tours take place at venues other than the congress venue (Messe Congress Graz). Tours are booked as part of the conference registration, which is now open.

Ligeti Hall / Active Acoustics

Experience the György-Ligeti-Saal at MUMUTH and its active acoustics system, which adapts the reverberation of the hall electronically to the performance.

Visit the CUBE at the Institute of Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM): an experimental concert space and laboratory with a hemispherical loudspeaker array for spatial audio research and Ambisonics reproduction.

Laboratory for Building Science

Visit the Lab for Building Science, an internationally accredited testing and research institute with more than 20 years of experience in the acoustic, thermal, and structural performance of building components.
All tours take place away from the congress venue; directions will be provided together with the registration details.
Meeting points
Every tour starts at a meeting point outside the venue, where volunteers collect the group and guide you in. Please be there in time — each group goes in together, and the tours start punctually.
- Graz Opera House — Friday, 11 September: the Lichtschwert sculpture on Opernring, in front of the opera house (47.068935, 15.444773). Please be there by 09:00 at the latest.
- Ligeti Hall / Active Acoustics — Saturday, 12 September: Lichtenfelsgasse 14, at the Palais Meran entrance driveway, on the square in front of MUMUTH (47.072790, 15.450595). Please be there 10 minutes before your tour starts. Note that building works block the way across the Palais Meran forecourt; the nearest tram stop is Lichtenfelsgasse (Kunstuniversität).
- IEM CUBE — Saturday, 12 September: Inffeldgasse 10, ground floor, in the staircase (47.058490, 15.460483). Please be there 5 minutes before your tour starts; the CUBE itself is on the third floor.
- Dom im Berg — Saturday, 12 September: Schlossbergplatz, at the foot of the Schlossberg (47.073064, 15.436560). Please be there 10 minutes before your tour starts; from there you are taken to the entrance inside the Schlossberg.
- Laboratory for Building Science — Saturday, 12 September: the forecourt of the laboratory, Inffeldgasse 24/I (47.057282, 15.457084). Please be there 5 minutes before your tour starts.
For MUMUTH, the IEM CUBE and the Laboratory for Building Science the meeting point is at the venue itself. For the Graz Opera House and Dom im Berg the meeting point and the venue entrance are a short walk apart — the map below shows both.
